Twentse landschap


Het Twentse landschap is adembenemend mooi. Van uniek natuurgebied tot uitgestrekt veengebied. Terug in de tijd; ooit wandelden hier de mammoet, de wolharige neushoorn en het laatste reuzenhert. Sterker nog, ooit was dit gebied zee, getuige de walvis- en haaientanden die af en toe nog gevonden worden. Nu is het unieke Twentse land een bonte verzameling van bijzondere landschapselementen. Zin in bos, heide, weide, beekjes en bronnen? Twente heeft het allemaal!




The Twente landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. From unique nature reserve to extensive peat areas. Back in time; the mammoth, the woolly rhinoceros and the last giant deer even walked here. In fact, once this area was sea, witness the whale and shark teeth that are still found here today. Now the unique Twente country is a colorful collection of special landscape elements. Forest, heath, meadow, streams and springs. Twente has it all!





De Vermolen 1323-1930

U bevindt zich op een historisch punt. Vele eeuwen geleden draaide hier het molenrad van De Vermolen. Het was een watermolen die door het stromende water van de molenbeek werd aangedreven. Eeuwenlang was de molen in gebruik als oliemolen voor kool- en vlaszaad van boeren uit de omgeving.


You are at a historic point. Many centuries ago, the mill wheel of De Vermolen turned here. It was a water mill that was powered by the flowing water of the mill stream. For centuries the mill was used as an oil mill for rape and flax seed from farmers in the area.
