Geocache Description:

For many years the Treadwell Ditch trail had a soggy and boggy reroute in this area.  The actual water of the "ditch" hung along a cliff below this point.  Sometime in the late 80s or 90s it collapsed.  A crude reroute was flagged and intrepid hikers and runners got their feet good and wet going voer this reroute.

In 2019 a better route was flagged and a trail created to bypass this cliff and bog area.  The cache was placed at the high point of this reroute.  It is in a tree stump cavity that has several small trees growing  The cavity is covered with copious quantities of moss.  Hopefully the coordinates get you close.  Looking for a gelato container.

Please remember that the Ditch has historical status and the archeologists at the Forest Service desire that it remain undisturbed.

The Treadwell Ditch does have an access point in the Bonnie Brae neighborhood.  It is a 30-40 minute hike up some muddy sections to reach the ditch.  Take the "south" Treadwell access when the sign presents itself.
