Nekoć je ovdje bila željeznička stanica na ovoj povijesnoj pruti, koja je bila duga, dakle, smo 21 kilometar, prestala je raditi još davne 1966. godine, a u funkciji nije bila ni stotinu godina. Naime, gradnja pruge Kanfanar - Rovinj počela je u Rovinju 23. prosinca 1873. godine, a prvi je vlak stigao u taj grad 19. kolovoza 1876. godine, na carev rođendan. Za taj su se potez Austrijanci odlučili zbog sve većeg jačanja Pule kao glavne ratne luke Austro-Ugarske, a Rovinj je u to doba bio razvijen industrijski gradić. Ne biste vjerovali, ali tada Rovinj nije slovio kao glavni istarski turistički grad, nego kao glavni industrijski grad Poluotoka s brojnim tvornicama. Naime, 1847. godine u tom je gradiću otvoren prvi parni mlin i tvornica za proizvodnju tjestenine, 1857. godine imao je cementaru i uljaru, 1872. godine tvornicu duhana, a 1882. godine tvornicu stakla i preradu ribe. Željeznica je bila prijeko potrebna.

Namely, the construction of the Kanfanar - Rovinj railway began in Rovinj on December 23, 1873, and the first train arrived in that city on August 19, 1876, on the emperor's birthday. The Austrians decided on this move due to the growing strengthening of Pula as the main war port of Austro-Hungary, and Rovinj was a developed industrial town at that time. You wouldn't believe it, but then Rovinj was not known as the main Istrian tourist town, but as the main industrial town of the Peninsula with numerous factories. Namely, in 1847 the first steam mill and a factory for the production of pasta were opened in that town, in 1857 it had a cement and oil mill, in 1872 a tobacco factory, and in 1882 a glass factory and fish processing. The railroad was desperately needed.

An diesem 21 Kilometer langen historischen Stab befand sich hier einst ein Bahnhof, der bereits 1966 seinen Betrieb einstellte und hundert Jahre lang nicht in Betrieb war. Am 23. Dezember 1873 begann in Rovinj nämlich der Bau der Eisenbahnstrecke Kanfanar - Rovinj, und der erste Zug kam in dieser Stadt am 19. August 1876, am Geburtstag des Kaisers, an. Die Österreicher entschieden sich für diesen Schritt aufgrund der zunehmenden Stärkung von Pula als Hauptkriegshafen Österreich-Ungarns und Rovinj war zu dieser Zeit eine entwickelte Industriestadt. Die Eisenbahn wurde dringend benötigt.
Trasa pruge išla je dakle iz Kanfanara uz Limsku dragu preko Okreta, Sošića i Rovinjskog Sela do zaljeva Valdibora. Na toj su trasi bile dvije postaje, dva stajališta, dva mosta, trideset i jedan cestovni prijelaz, a maksimalna brzina vlaka bila je 40 km/h. Rovinjci su tako bili izravno povezani s Bečom, a vlak je prometovao četiri puta na dan. Uz Rovinj, tada se razvija i mali Kanfanar koji je uz veliku stanicu dobio svu prateću željezničku infrastrukturu. Starije se generacije sjećaju bazena s vodom na dnu Drage s jakom parnom pumpom i cjevovodom do stanice gdje su se parnjače opskrbljivale vodom...

Die Strecke der Eisenbahn führte von Kanfanar entlang der Limska draga über Okret, Sošić und Rovinjsko Selo bis zur Bucht von Valdibor.
