A small water trail of caches on the Erie Canal. There is a short walk from parking to the put in location. It's a somewhat rough location, but easy enough to get in and out of your kayak.
All hides in this series are black preform containers tied onto branches overhanging the water. The caches are likely visible from the shore, but not accessible unless you want to get wet. They are tied hopefully out of view of the casual paddler. The water level at the time of placement was low, so I put most of them up a bit but they are easily reachable from your kayak.
I volunteer for the New York State Canalway Water Trail, and are responsible for doing some basic cleanup activites on the canal from Bushnell's Basin to Macedon. I placed these caches while hauling out a few kayaks and sup board worth of trash.
