Geocache Description:

This is a replacement cache from the stop sign at the opposite end of the street that kept getting removed.

About 100 yards to the West, stood the original homestead that my great grandparents built to house their 7 children and themselves. If you are from this area, or have been here for a while, you may have refered to it as "the house with the mannequins" or maybe you came by and bought a bag of citrus from my Uncle Jimmy.

I drive by the empty lot every day and still remember Saturday mornings on the back porch listening to my great aunts and uncles tell stories. I remember Easters where we always came up 1 egg short. And I remember the rides in the old Model T through the citrus groves.

Majority of the land along Knecht Rd from Palm Bay Rd to Port Malabar Blvd belonged to my family. The city honored my family's legacy by naming this street after them.

This is 1 of 2 locations that bare the Knecht name.

Enjoy my video I made to honor my family :) https://youtu.be/YzI7EbM9F6Q
