
"To the Glory of God and in honoured memory of the Alresford men who fell in the Great War 1914 - 1918 and the Second World War 1939-1945".
Standing in the grounds of the ruins of St. Peters Church, this memorial comprises a rough hewn plinth, shaft and wheel cross, with inscriptions on the base of the shaft and sides of the plinth. It is mounted on a concrete base, and the memorial is surrounded by a low chain link fence.
The front of the plinth has the names of the 11 men of Alresford who died in the First World War, and the right hand side has the names of the five who died in the Second World War.

On the top line of text at the front of the War Memorial there are two names.
A = The number of letters in the surname of the first soldier remembered.
B = The number of letters in the surname of the second soldier remembered.
