There are at lease 5 of these bat houses along the Slough.
The Eagle Scout who placed them for their Eagle Scout Project, was Ricky Buma of Troop 495. The boxes were installed in 2007 and there were 7 boxes when originally placed. But, that is all I could find.
There is a faded sign nearer to the Trailhead.
Bats provide a number of benefits to humans and the environment (They eat mosquitoes). The houses provide them needed safe roosting spaces.
There is no need to climb the pole.
