As my K9K8 nickname indicates: I love dogs! I grew up with 14 different dogs and have had 4 dogs of my own. My first vocation was as an engineer; once a geek, always a geek. As a second career I switched to dog grooming. Both science and animals have enriched my life. All my cache hides will have something to do with the dogs.
So keeping with my dog theme: “Underdog” has several links. Of course, for those of us old enough to remember, Underdog was a cartoon… “There’s no need to fear! Underdog is here!”. Then of course there are those (myself included) that always “root for the underdog”.
I personally have known several underdogs by pure canine habit. Dogs like to create dens. It’s their innate nature should they still be in the wild. My second Golden Retriever wanted to sleep on the shelf under my Living Room coffee table until she got too big to fit. My current dogs have decided to take up occupancy under the kitchen desk space. One of my best friends had a pair of Labs that decided to establish a den under her backyard shed – they made such a large lair that she fell through the floor!
I think we all enjoy a cozy den. Be careful where you choose to build it!
