This series has been placed in the remains of No. 16 POW Camp in Dwellingup that many folks may not know is even here. The buildings have been removed but the foundations of a lot of them still remain. It is an educational walk around with lots of info along the way and it has been recently revamped with new signs to give you a real picture of what it was like there.
We discovered this many years ago and were fascinated by it and hope to bring others out to such an historic place not far from Perth.
It is not far from Marrinup Campsite which has always been one of our favourite places to camp with loads of room for all types of vehicles and the Munda Biddi Track runs through the campsite if you want to take your muntain bikes for a great family weekend. The Hotham Valley train track runs past the campground and if you’re lucky you see the train go past.
We have come up with a series of movies that are set in POW camps from WWII and Vietnam in theme with the POW Camp….all great movies and all worth a watch! We hope you enjoy this series and enjoy each cache and how it is relative to each movie.
Access is via Grey Rd off the Pinjarra/Williams Rd (signposted). Please BYOP, there is a variety of caches, most not far from the road/walking track.

A 2010 American survival film directed b Peter Weir, from a screenplay by Weir and Keith Clarke. It is inspired by The Long Walk (1956), the memoir by former Polish prisoner of war Slawomir Rawicz, who claimed to have escaped from a Soviet Gulag and walked 4,000 miles (6,400 km) to freedom in World War II, and stars Jim Sturgess, Colin Farrell, Ed Harris and Saoirse Ronan.

The Cache:
From here on in, park your car in the car bays provided at the entrance and go by foot for all the remaining caches. An easy magnetic to get you started on your tour of the No 16 POW Camp and the rest of the series. As the title suggests, this will be your waypoint for the 'Way Home' or at least to the carpark once you have completed the series.
