Il borgo di Monteverdi Marittimo merita sicuramente una visita, è un caratteristico borgo toscano le cui radici affondano nel Medioevo. Sicuramente, però, la storia del luogo è ben più antica in quanto la zona fu abitata da Etruschi, Romani e anche Longobardi. Lasciandosi alle spalle la strada principale è possibile visitare le storiche piazze e le caratterisriche vie molto strette (che qui vengono chiamate "rughe"). Lungo queste vie e piazze scorrono le imponenti case di pietra tutte teleriscaldate dall'energia geotermica. Nel paesino sono anche presenti ristoranti e negozi locali che vendono prodotti tipici della zona. La cache si trova in uno dei punti panoramici del Borgo dove è possibile vedere la Val di Cornia che si affaccia sul mare, nei giorni più limpidi e tersi è possibile vedere anche l'isola d'Elba.

The village of Monteverdi Marittimo definitely worth a visit. It is a characteristic Tuscan village whose roots go back to the Middle Ages. Surely, however, the history of the place is much older as the area was inhabited by Etruscans, Romans and even Longobard. Leaving behind the main street it is possible to visit the squares and the charateristic very narrow streets (which here are called "wrinkles"). Along all these streets and squares are built the imposing stone houses, all heated by geothermal energy. In the village there are also local restaurants and shops that sell typical products of the area. The cache is located in one of the panoramic points. From here it's possible to see Val di Cornia overlooking the sea. On the clearest days it's also possible to see the Elba island.
