The V8 Interceptor, also known as a Pursuit Special, is driven by Max Rockatansky at the end of Mad Max. A 1973 Ford XB Falcon GT 351, it has a dual overhead cam engine, and thanks to the blower, makes 600 horsepower at the wheels.
In Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior the Interceptor is now showing wear and tear, due to the harsh conditions of the wasteland. The vehicle was modified in order to become better suited for traversing the barren wastelands.
~ Two massive fuel tanks were added to allow the car to travel greater distances. The new fuel gauge, indicating the car was now capable of holding 200 litres of fuel.
~ The passenger seat was removed, and a custom seat for Max's dog was installed on the passenger door.
~ Max had several weapons hidden within and even outside the car.
~ Max rigged the tanks to explode with a booby trap hidden under the car.
