Great HaywoodMemorial Hall was built in 1922 as a lasting memorial to those villagers who fell in the Great War.
Welcome to my Village Hall Series cache. The cache is not at the posted coordinates. To work out the final coordinates you will need to go to the posted coordinates. You will find the front of the Memorial Hall. To help you, Apart from a GPS you will need a Mobile phone with internet access because you will be doing research out in the field.
At the front of the building to the right of the stairs you will find a sand stone block built into the wall roughly above knee high. you will find a name on it "forename, 2 x Middle names, Title and then the surname". To find stage 2 please google the name (dont need to put the persons title in) followed by Great Haywood, Find a grave. If you have typed correctly the link you want should be the top one. click the link and you should find the grave in a local church only a short walk away. on the website is a link to a map on google maps. click this and you will see a map that will take you roughly to the area where the grave stone is. please find the grave for stage 2. you dont need to wonder all over the grave yard. the grave is close to the church.
Stage 2. At the grave stone please check out the identical grave stone behind it. Plase find the answers to the following questions.
1/. The person burried here was in the Royal Navy, please substitute the ranking with a number. 1 being Leading Hand and 15 being Admiral = A
2/. How old was he when he died = BC
3/. The man was born and died on the same day of the week. Please substitute the day with a number. 1 being Monday and 7 being Sunday = D
4/. How many letters are in the month when he died = E
For the final coordinates please solve the following formula
N52 48. ((A/C)-B) A ((D*C)-E
W002 00. D (sq root((A*B)/C)) (E-C)
Checksum :- The total of all 15 numbers = 42
