Welcome to County Line Road Access
This site has a parking lot with a short .3 mile trail provides anglers access to the Kishwaukee River. The fish in this area include: channel catfish, bullhead, largemouth bass, northern pike, bluegill, green sunfish, crappie. Be sure to also enjoy the hike through the beautiful prairie system on the way to the Kishwaukee River access point.
You can also kayak the Kishwaukee River from this access point! Looking for a new water route to paddle? Kayak or Canoe the Kishwaukee River. The Conservation Districts of McHenry and Boone Counties have teamed up to share facilities at County Line Road.
Put in on the Boone County side and park across the street on the McHenry County side (4700 County Line Rd., Marengo). Paddle roughly eight miles to Belvidere Park District’s Red Horse Bend Canoe Launch, at Lawrenceville Road, east of Genoa Road.

- Replace the cache in the same spot that you found it, and make sure it is completely covered.
- Please do not remove the informational card from the containers, this is an essential game piece for cachers completing the GeoSeries.
- The real treasure is finding the container and sharing your thoughts with everyone who finds it.
