Welcome to the 2022 WCPARC Geocaching Adventure!
This year, we have eight caches hidden for you to find parks and preserves. All the Geocaching Adventure caches are regular in size and include a logbook, pen, pencil, and some sweet swag for trading... with the exception of our Challenge Cache.
On the inside of each logbook cover, you will find two code words or phrases. Keep track of these; when you have found all eight of the 2022 caches, send us an email (PLEASE do NOT use the "send a message" function!) and include:
- your name, mailing address, and the list of code words to receive a collectible tag! Please do not forget to send us your mailing address; without this, we cannot send you your prize!
As always, the first geocacher to complete the Geocaching Adventure (all eight regular caches, plus the Challenge Cache!) will receive a special FTF award from WCPARC.
Please do your best to return the cache container to its hiding spot, including adding cover (leaves, sticks, etc.) to camouflage it for the next cacher.
Thank you and enjoy our Geocaching Adventure!
Location Information
This cache can be found at our Harwood Heritage Preserve, this preserve operated by the Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission and purchased through the Natural Areas Preservation Program. The preserve is part of the larger woods that comprises much of Pittsfield Preserve, a large public natural area owned and managed by Pittsfield Township. Acquisition has prevented the possible clearing of this woodlot, which would have had a detrimental impact on the adjacent Pittsfield Preserve—both as a viable habitat and quality viewshed. This is a longer walk, you must walk through the Pittsfield Preserve to get to the Harwood Heritage Preserve, it can be very muddy so bring boots! Note: County Ordinance 128 prohibits dogs from being allowed in our preserves.
