Lungo la strada provinciale Pavone, prima del bivio per monte Rotondo a destra e massa marittima a sinistra nel parco delle colline metallifere. Il Parco Nazionale delle Colline Metallifere Grossetane (Tuscan Mining Geopark ed inserito tra i geoparchi riconosciuti dall'Unesco) si ripercorre la storia della attività minerarie e della metallurgia che hanno segnato per oltre tremila questo territorio della Maremma. Andando alla scoperta delle miniere e del lavoro nel sottosuolo, ci si avventura in un percorso multi-tematico che tocca l'archeologia etrusca e medievale, l'aspetto naturalistico e ambientale, il patrimonio architettonico dei borghi e dei castelli, ed ovviamente l'archeologia industriale.
Il Parco si estende su un territorio molto vasto che tocca sette Comuni della Maremma, e precisamente scendendo da nord verso sud: Monterotondo Marittimo, Montieri, Massa Marittima, Roccastrada, Gavorrano, Follonica e Scarlino. Ogni comune ha una "Porta" di accesso al Parco con un centro accoglienza che rappresenta anche il punto di partenza degli itinerari e/o delle visite, in una delle più avvincenti scenografie minerarie d'Europa.
