After years of hard work by local volunteers aided by a grant from the Parish council towards the cost of the project, work commenced on the construction of a brand new building on land purchased from the Abbey. The Hall was finally completed in 1989 and it was officially opened by Lord Lichfield in 1991. It is situated at the end of Chilwell Avenue on the St Mary's estate, Little Haywood. It is totally self funded, raising funds from letting fees and fundraising events
