Welcome to Polk Park! Here is a fun easy Letterbox with projections. If you have a compass or a Garmin GPSr with SightnGo this will be a piece of cake.
A note for the folks who need us to know they are experts at orienteering, the terrain rating and distances will tell you that polar/magnetic North is irrelevant.
Start at the posted coordinates. Here you will see a sign describing the object that nature didn't make. (The sign has a pine tree pic on top)
Take the two numbers from this sign and add them together.
If the number is 2013 walk 130 degrees for 50 feet.
If the number is 2014 walk 56 degrees for 100 feet.
If the number is 2115 walk 234 degrees for 50 feet.
If the number is 2216 walk 360 degrees for 450 feet.
STEP #2 head 138 degrees for 110 feet
STEP #3 217 feet for 217 degrees
STEP #4 tiptoe 160 feet 187 degrees
STEP #5 stroll 212 feet at a heading of 232 degrees
(If you did moderately well you can now touch a chain.)
For the final go about 20 feet for 343 degrees and look down between a small circle of trees.
Sign or stamp the logbook. Do not take the stamp. The Flag pin is FTF prize.
