If you will look off to the Northwest about 1/4 mile on top of the hill from this location you will see a round stone circular structure looking similar to a water well. In the center of the structure is a flag pole. In the early days sometime during the 1800's these circular stone structures called "Signal Posts" and were built on top of hills to direct soldiers and settlers to a specific destination across the wild open prairies of Kansas. There are many of these structures on top of these hills in this surrounding area. This one has been preserved for over 100 years and is still standing. Many of the others have been destroyed or deterioriated.
Congratulations to da438 for the FTF!!!.
