In small town New Zealand, it is commonly said that you cannot consider yourself to be a 'local' unless you have a grand parent buried in the local Cemetary.
So despite having lived in the greater Blenheim area since the 28th of February 1978 (over 44 years), I could not consider myself a local.
That was until about three years ago when my uncle, who is an amateur genealogist, informed me that my great grandparents are buried in Omaka No. 3 Cemetary. My great grandfather is Bernard Joseph Duffy and he is buried with my great grandmother Lily Alice Duffy.
To solve this puzzle you will need to access the Marlborough District Council Cemetary Records Search website:
https://www.marlborough.govt.nz/services/cemeteries/cemetery-records-search
From there work out where my great grandparents gravesite is. You will then need to go to the grave site and using the numbers of the dates on the grave, where: AB May CDEF and GH Nov IJKL
You will find the cache VW metres away from the headstone on a bearing of XYZ degrees, where:
V = J
W = K
X = G + H
Y = F + L
Z = B + K
Checksum V+W+X+Y+Z = 34
