Trekking sopra le alture di Genova, Immersi nella natura, affacciati su una terrazza che gode di una meravigliosa vista sul Golfo Ligure e sull’entroterra Genovese, dove potrete rilassarvi nell’area attrezzata con tavoli e panchine a fianco alla graziosa cappelletta sopra il monte Teiolo.
Nel percorso oltre alla cappella del monte Teiolo, potrete visitare altri posti che abbiamo segnalato come waypoint sulla mappa: Il punto panoramico, l’ex batteria antiaerea, i ruderi dell’Abbazia di Cassinelle. (percorso 1).
Come arrivarci:
Il cache è raggiungibile in due modi, il percorso numero 1 è per gli amanti del trekking è abbastanza impegnativo e richiede abbigliamento adeguato e tempo a disposizione (circa 4 ore), il percorso numero 2 è addatto a tutti e richiede una breve passeggiata (circa 15min).
Entrambi i percorsi sono ben segnalati e ben tenuti, raggiungibili tutto l'anno.
PERCORSO 1:
Come detto in precedenza questo percorso è abbastanza impegnativo, richiede abbigliamento adeguato, tanta acqua e un buon livello di allenamento, è un percorso ad anello richiede circa 4 ore con un dislivello di medio di 600m.
Il percorso inizia da Sestri Ponente, (parcheggio 1 WP) si sale per via Molotto, a sinistra per via Priano si supera la linea ferroviaria e poco dopo si svolta a destra per via Rivassa, si prosegue poi per via S.Rocco di Borzoli fino a raggiungere un piazzale con un bivio a tre strade (percorso 1 WP), prendere il sentiero centrale quello più piccolo, dove troverete delle indicazioni per il sentiero, da lì inizia il sentiero vero e proprio.
Arrivati in cima al monte troverete una piccola croce con un punto panoramico su Genova,
Proseguendo poi verso l’entroterra incontrerete l’ex batteria antiaerea.
Ora una discesa vi porterà ad un bivio adiacente alla strada per scarpino, andando dritti si prosegue per la Cappellina dove è posizionato il Geocache andando a sinistra si prosegue per il giro ad Anello che porta a i ruderi dell’abbazia di cassinelle.
Ancora un piccolo sforzo e un’altro sentiero in salita di circa 15 minuti vi porterà in vetta, arrivati è d’obbligo la pausa pranzo e una bella pausa relax nell’ area attrezzata che troverete di fronte alla graziosa cappellina con correlata ricerca del cache 😉
Al ritorno arrivati al primo bivio potrete decidere se andare a destra (consigliato) verso i ruderi di Cassinelle e fare il giro ad anello (anche meno impegnativo) o proseguire dritti nel sentiero dell’andata.
Superato il bosco arriverete ai ruderi dell’abbazia di Cassinelle.
L'abbazia, costituita dalla piccola Chiesa di Santa Maria e da alcuni edifici un tempo adibiti ad abitazioni, stalle e fienili, era un antico "hospitale" con stazione di posta sulla strada che da Sestri Ponente, passando per il valico di Lencisa, portava alle Capanne di Marcarolo (antico luogo di scambi commerciali tra mercanti liguri e piemontesi) e da qui alla pianura piemontese, intorno ad Alessandria.
La chiesa, il cui tetto è oggi crollato, a navata unica, aveva l'ingresso rivolto a nord. A sinistra dell'ingresso si trova una tomba ad arcosolio, in marmo e ardesia, al di sotto della chiesa si trova un locale con 32 loculi, preceduto da un altro locale dove era un piccolo altare.
Antistante la chiesa si apre un'ampia zona pianeggiante, sul quale si affacciano altri fabbricati a destinazione abitativa e una torretta di avvistamento. Quest'ultima ha piccole finestre rettangolari su tutti i lati e una merlatura a coronamento della copertura. La torretta per la sua posizione consentiva il completo controllo della strada che saliva all'abbazia.
Proseguendo in discesa si supera poi il fiume e si arriva ad un piccolo paesino che si congiunge con la strada asfaltata, e proseguendo per Via Chiaravagna si ritorna a Sestri.
PERCORSO 2:
Questo percorso è adatto a tutti, richiede circa 15 minuti di sentiero in salita con un dislivello medio di 40m.
Da Borzoli svoltate in Via Militare di Borzoli e proseguite fino in cima al monte seguendo la strada, arrivati al punto (parcheggio 2, percorso 2 WP) parcheggiate la macchina e iniziate il sentiero tenendovi sempre sulla destra, continuate in salita fino alla Cappellina e la cima del monte Taiolo.

How to get there:
The cache can be reached in two ways, the route number 1 is for lovers of trekking is quite demanding and requires appropriate clothing and time (about 4 hours), the route number 2 is suitable for anyone and requires a short walk (about 15min).
Both routes are well signposted and well maintained, accessible all year round.
ROUTE 1:
As mentioned earlier this route is quite challenging, requires proper clothing, lots of water and a good level of training, it is a loop route takes about 4 hours with an average altitude difference of 600m.
The trail starts from Sestri Ponente, (parking 1 WP) you go up via Molotto, on the left via Priano you pass the railway line and shortly after you turn right onto via Rivassa, then continue on via S. Rocco di Borzoli until you reach a square with a three-way junction (path 1 WP), take the central path the most small, where you will find signs for the trail, from there begins the actual trail.
At the top of the mountain you will find a small cross with a panoramic point of Genoa, continuing inland you will meet the former anti-aircraft battery.
Now a descent will take you to a junction adjacent to the road for boots, going straight ahead continue for the Cappellina where the Geocache is located. Going to the left, continue for the ring that leads to the ruins of the abbey of cassinelle.
Still a little effort and another path uphill of about 15 minutes will take you to the summit, when you arrive you must have a lunch break and a nice relaxing break in the equipped area that you will find in front of the pretty little chapel with related search for the cache 😉
On the way back at the first fork you can decide whether to go right (recommended) towards the ruins of Cassinelle and make the loop (even less challenging) or continue straight on the outward path.
After the forest you will reach the ruins of Cassinelle Abbey.

Continuing downhill, you cross the river and reach a small village that joins the asphalt road, and continuing along Via Chiaravagna you return to Sestri.
ROUTE 2:
This route is suitable for everyone, it takes about 15 minutes of uphill trail with an average altitude difference of 40m.
From Borzoli turn into Via Militare di Borzoli and continue up to the top of the mountain following the road, at the point (parking 2, path 2 WP) park your car and start the trail keeping to the right, continue uphill to the Cappellina and the top of Mount Taiolo.
