This traditional geocache is owned and maintained by Lake Metigoshe State Park. Entrance fees apply in the amount of $7/vehicle/day or $35 for a single annual pass or $55 family pass for two annual passes going to those within the same household. Entrance fees can be paid at the entrance station via staff or self-registration, online at www.parkrec.nd.gov or at the main office during business hours. Parking can be found near the Kings Highway trailhead.
The location of this cache makes a great spot to launch a canoe or kayak onto Eramosh Lake, a lake that straddles the Canadian border. If you paddle to the north, look east and west until you line yourself up with the border. At that time, you'll see the border where the trees have been cleared. Please do not land your canoe or kayak on the Canadian side as you will be in violation of illegally crossing the border.
Eramosh Lake is beautiful and quiet, making it a great place to explore and connect with the outdoors. For adventure seekers, check out the primitive (no electricity or water) cabin. This cabin, named the Osprey, requires a 2 mile hike, ski, snowshoe or paddle to access. It is located on the E side of the lake.
Happy caching!
