Dash 2 Cache 101 is not your typical Drivers Education Class.
Tools to pack in your trunk: Jumper cables, batteries, flashlight, rain gear, extra boots and socks, extra pants?, Pens, & who knows what else you might need on an adventure.
Map out your directions ahead of time and read these over so you have an idea where you are going.
Enter destination into your GPS, typed directions, pull out those old-time paper maps, or chickn'scratch hand written directions.
Have your GPS located in a position you can easily view safely while driving. Keep paper / digital directions handy as you drive.
Pre Scope out area for a place to park at GZ on Google maps before heading out.
Slow down as you approach GZ to safely exit the road if parking is a pull over area.
Under no circumstance should you stop in the middle of the road especially if your nervous spouse is with you.
Obey all traffic lights, speed zones, street & speed signs & only make u-turns at allowed locations.
Never park in questionable muddy areas or wet grass unless you have a geomobile with 4 x 4 gear. If you do park in an area like that and you are not the one with 4 x 4 make sure you know someone who does on speed dial so they can tow you out if necessary.
EXTRA TIPS.... In the event that your destination is a FTF, make sure you follow the speed limits and watch out for speed camera traps. Obey all light signals at all times. Watch the road, do NOT keep checking for the cache page to update with another first logger!
Carpool with other Geo friends to save gasoline or geocharge.
Don't be a Sunday driver - it might take you too long and people may beep their horns at you. Unless it actually is SUNDAY - then by all means drive.
