This is one of our favourite summer walking areas because of the great variety of wildlife including many different species of dragonfly/damselfly, deer, birds of prey and even a beaver if you're very lucky!
Park at the forestry gate at Seafield and head up the forestry road towards Lochan Buic but take the first right as you reach the lochan and follow a much older forestry track, between two hills to find a second, smaller lochan. Follow the track around the right side of the water and then away from it for about 500m towards Achnamara until you get to what would have been a turning point for vehicles. Please note this is not suitable for vehicles and must be done on foot. To know that you're in the right area, you'll see a small pond at the right side of the track and the burn passes under the track from right to left. Continue on the track for another 50m until you get a view of Loch Sween and look for 3 trees growing together at the right side of the track. GZ is very close.
Please also note that the last part of the track is quite grassy and the grass can be wet so appropriate footwear is advised.
