Geocache Description:

31 July 2022, 12:00 - 13:00

Date: Sunday, July 31, 2022
Time: 12 noon until 1:00 pm
Where: Inspiration Garden in Mahany Park between the Roseville Sports Center and Martha Riley Library in Roseville at 1535 Pleasant Grove Blvd, Roseville, CA 95747.

This is an informal gathering for geocachers of all ages to just meet up and talk about geocaching or to meet other geocachers. Everyone is welcome whether they're new to geocaching or have been active for several years. Please bring geocoins and travel bugs for retrieval or discovery. Trackable apparel is encouraged as well.

The location is at a new interpretive garden that opened in Spring, 2022 that features drought resistant plants and information boards. There is plenty of free parking close to the event location. There are a number of seating areas under canopies and hopefully they'll block the sun. The event will happen rain or shine.

As a bonus, there may be a set of new Adventure Labs published sometime before the start of the event.

NOTE: The garden is new and signage is limited so I don't know if dogs are allowed. And the park has a few restrooms but I don't know if they'll be open. And the library next door is closed on Sundays. Also, the garden is gated. If the gates happen to be locked or the garden is occupied by another group we'll just meet in front of the gates on the north side. I hope to visit on one of the Sundays before the event to get a better idea of how things are.

UPDATE 7/17/22: I came by today (Sunday around noon) to scout the area and fortunately the gates to the garden are open and there's three picnic type tables in the shade and another seating area partially in the shade. I'm assuming that since there's no signs stating that dogs aren't allowed that means that it is ok to have dogs there. There is a farmers' market on the north side of the lot held every Sunday from 9am to 1pm. I was able to get in and out easily and park close to the garden so access and parking shouldn't be an issue for anyone. I forgot to check on the availability of restrooms.

Near the garden are two play areas for kids. One is for kids ages 2-5 and the other is for kids ages 5-12; both require adult supervision and neither has much shade. There's also batting cages from slo-pitch softball to 80 mph baseball. A sign states that they're supposed to be open on Sunday afternoons but only the 80 mph one did not have a locked gate. A batting helmet, your own bat, and shoes are required. The machines there take tokens but I don't know where you're supposed to get tokens from. They may take coins as well but I didn't get a good look at the information.

I hope to see you all there!
