Geocache Description:

If you will look south about 150 feet you will see the  Hodgden House. The Hodgden House was built in 1874 by Perry and Phoeboe Hodgden who were very influential residents in the developement of Ellsworth. His was the first private home to be built of stone after the fires of 1874 and 1875 consumed most of the buildings and residences on North and South Main Streets comprising most of the town of Ellsworth. In the vicinity of the Hodgden House is an 1880's livery stable,1880's Second Baptist Church, a 1909 Caboose, turn of the century wooden windmill, a small log cabin, and a general store.
