Geocache Description:

He's back; well sort of!  This is the greatest and best cache in Calgary, tribute!

Thank you to OutfortheHunt for giving me permission to use SnD's photo and the ability to create this cache.

Released on November 15, 2002, SnD, the travelling Geocache, brought a lot of joy and mayhem to many cachers in Calgary during his final run.  I first found SnD in Bowness park on December 20, 2016.  Little did we know that GC HQ was going to force him into retirement but I was able to find him 8 more times before he was retired on May 22, 2017.  On March 31, 2017, Nicolo posted:

"Noooooooo! Ugh! Well, we can always log "finds" as a note ... right? No need to archive ...?"

I imagine there was a collective sigh as many were upset and did not like GC HQ's annoucement that you can only find and log a geocache once.  OutfortheHunt removed the 20 day rule on April 7, 2017 which resulted in SnD being found and moved around Calgary quickly as everyone wanted one last day with SnD.  In fact, from the removal of the 20 day rule to April 10, SnD was logged 43 times; sometimes finds, sometimes DNF or notes.  As such, OutfortheHunt instituted a 4 day rule on April 10th, 2017.  In his final month, SnD had 108 logs.  Overall, SnD was logged 3231 times, 1661 finds, 128 DNFs, and 1404 notes.  And how many of us forgot to tie a piece of ribbon to say we took SnD?

I am hoping to create a series of caches of places I hid SnD or places I found him, however as I found with this placement many other caches have invade areas where I have hid SnD previously.  Therefore, I encourage others to place a hide where you have placed or found SnD and include Stash n' Dash in the title somehow. (This is my first hide, so just testing the waters.)

My favorite find is when I found SnD after Edgemonks had hid him up a Spruce tree. When I went to find him I was expecting within arms reach, but heck no, SnD was way up high.  I was still relatively new to geocaching, so I was wondering how in the hell they got it up that high. Everytime I drive by the area while going up Sarcee trail I am reminded of throwing a rock to knock him down.  Thankfully, I caught him or it would have been another adventure to retrieve him.

Thanks OutfortheHunt for this great and best geocache of its time! You will find this tribute to SnD close to the place I hid him on February 22, 2017.  Since this is a tribute, you are looking for a gold micro.
