Welcome to the Farewell to Finder’s Fest geo-art, brought to you by the Forest Minions! This series celebrates weird and unusual things throughout the Sunshine State. Please do not go to the posted locations. Rather, solve the challenging quiz found at the bottom of each page, for the final location. For the letterbox caches, please leave the stamp in the cache. They are not trade items. For the discerning traveler, we’ve included the GPS coordinates for these bizarre locations, when we were able to establish them.
Panther Crossing – Location 25.9871, -81.5728

Driving across the Everglades on the Tamiami Trail you’ll see several Panther crossings. Florida remains the only state in the Union where highway systems including bridges and tunnels have been created, just so panthers can cross the road. Although these big cats are limited in numbers they occasionally come in close contact with humans. Recent reports show that a single rogue panther, likely suffering from habitat deprivation, had killed several goats, an emu and a half-dozen chickens.
