Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Farewell to Finder’s Fest geo-art, brought to you by the Forest Minions! This series celebrates weird and unusual things throughout the Sunshine State. Please do not go to the posted locations. Rather, solve the challenging quiz found at the bottom of each page, for the final location. For the letterbox caches, please leave the stamp in the cache. They are not trade items. For the discerning traveler, we’ve included the GPS coordinates for these bizarre locations, when we were able to establish them.

Christ of the Abyss – Location 25.1234, -80.2971

On August 25th, 1965, a 9 foot tall bronze statue of Christ was lowered into 25 feet of water, off the coast of Key Largo. Known as Christ of the Abyss, this submerged statue in John Pennekamp State Park was actually the third of its kind cast from the original Italian mold.

The original Il Cristo degli Abissi was lowered into the Mediterranean Sea on August 22nd, 1954, just off San Fruttuoso, on the Italian Riviera. On October 22, 1961, a second casting was submerged off the coast of St George’s, Grenada, in the Caribbean Sea. This third incarnation was submerged near Dry Rocks, in the state park, which, incidentally, was the first underwater state park in the US.

Here is the super duper, way challenging, really hard trivia question, which, if solved properly, will lead you to the final coordinates:

Question: Which country bans the ownership of single guinea pigs, but allows owning more than one?

A: Mordor = N29° 27.497' W81° 51.568'

B: Hogwarts = N29° 27.497' W81° 51.578'

C: Switzerland = N29° 27.497' W81° 51.588'
