🇫🇮 Haastekätkö
Kätkö on annetuissa koordinaateissa, mutta ennen kuin voit logata kätkön löydetyksi, tulee sinun täyttää haasteen vaatimukset. Jos käyt purkilla ennen haasteen ehtojen täyttymistä, voit tehdä note-merkinnän. Jos et ole käynyt purkilla ja teet muistiinpanoja itseäsi varten, käytäthän personal note -kenttää, jotta kätkön watchlistille pistäneille ei tule turhia sähköposteja!
Haaste
Haasteen tarkoitus on kannustaa käymään saarikätköillä eri maissa. Jotta voit logata tämän kätkön löydetyksi, tulee sinun täyttää ensin haasteen vaatimukset. Haasteen vaatimukset / määritelmät:
- Olet löytänyt saarikätkön vähintään kuudesta (6) eri maasta.
- Saarikätköksi katsotaan kätkö, jonka maastoarvo on 5 ja jossa on veneattribuutti.
- Haasteen voi suorittaa missä päin maailmaa tahansa ja maiksi lasketaan geocaching.com:in erillisiksi maiksi katsomat kätköilyalueet, esim. Ahvenanmaa katsotaan omaksi kätköilyalueekseen.
- Sallittuja ovat kaikki kätkötyypit, joilla on määriteltynä D/T-arvot ja attribuutit, ts. lab-kätkö ei käy osaksi haastesuoritusta, vaikka sijaitsisikin saaressa, koska sillä ei ole T-arvoa 5 eikä veneattribuuttia.
Kätkön terrainluokitus perillä saaressa on 4. Kätkö on ripustettu männyn oksaan noin kuuden metrin korkeuteen maasta ja sen voi joko onkia tai purkille voi kiivetä oksia pitkin, alimmalle oksalle pääsemisessä slingistä tai vastaavasta voi olla apua. Mänty sijaitsee suoraan kiinteästä grillipaikasta itään, aivan rantahiekan reunalla. Itse vein purkin paikalleen luomuna kiipeämällä ilman mitään kiipeilyvarusteita. Melontamatkaa saareen tulee Kalkkirannasta (waypoint) noin 3 km per suunta. Rannassa on yhdeksän tunnin kiekkopaikkoja, rajoitus voimassa viikonpäivästä riippumatta klo 10-22 (piilotushetkellä).
Saaressa on ulkohuusseja, useita grilli- ja nuotiopaikkoja sekä puuvajoja, joissa ainakin piilotushetkellä oli runsaasti puita käytettävissä. Potentiaalisia telttailupaikkoja löytyy useita (hiekkarannalla ei kuitenkaan saa telttailla) ja saaren etelärannalla kätkön lähellä on kaksi upeaa hiekkarantaa, joten uimavarusteet kannattaa pakata mukaan. 🇬🇧 Challenge cache
The cache is located at the given coordinates. In order to log it as 'found' online, you have to fulfill the challenge requirements first. If you visit the physical cache first, you can log it online with a note, which you can change to a 'found' log as soon as you fulfill the requirements. If you have not visited the physical cache, please use the "personal note" field for your personal notes instead of posting a public note in order to avoid email spam for those who have the cache on their watchlist!
The challenge
This challenge cache requires you to visit island caches in different countries. Challenge requirements / definitions:
- Visit an island cache in at least six (6) different countries.
- An island cache is defined as a cache with a terrain rating of 5 and "boat required" attribute.
- The challenge can be completed anywhere in the world and those countries or autonomous areas classified as countries in geocaching.com count as different countries in this challenge. E.g. Finland and Aland Islands are different geocaching "countries".
- Only those cache types with a D/T rating and attributes are allowed. Therefore lab cache finds do not count even if the lab cache is located on an island as there is neither D/T rating nor attributes available.
The terrain rating of this challenge cache is 4 after reaching the island. The cache is hanging on a branch of a pine some six metres above the ground and can be retrieved by either using a rod or climbing the tree (a sling may be helpful in order to reach the lowest branch). The pine is located to the east from the fixed grill site, very near the edge of the sandy beach. I climbed the tree without any climbing equipment when hiding the cache. The paddling distance from the Kalkkiranta marina (waypoint) is about three kilometres per direction. Free parking is available in Kalkkiranta for nine hours (applicable from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, no time limits between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m.) but you need to place a parking disc on the dash of your car. Remember to check the traffic signs to see that the parking limits have not changed after the cache was hidden.
There are dry toilets, several campfire sites and firewood sheds on the island, with plenty of firewood available at least when I have visited the island. There are several good tent sites (though you are not allowed to camp on the sandy beach itself) and southern beach is good for swimming, so bring your swimming equipment with you when visiting the island. There is a observation tower on the island (waypoint) which you can reach by walking a path from the pier.
