Hello Geocachers! Welcome to the Technoparc natural area!
This beautiful place is an oasis in the city and is a haven for birds and birders looking to enjoy the land around you. 216 species of birds live here, and thrive in the wetlands in the center of each parcel. In the winter, owls can be seen easily, as they nest here and hunt for prey in the grasslands north of the airport and in the golf course to the west. Summertime fills the air with bugs and the trees with birds - turkeys in the forest, and herons making their nests in the large marsh to the east. Part of the reason for the unsually high biodiversity in this spot is its variation in habitat - in few other places on the island of montreal can one find a mixture of forest, wetland, and meadow sharing the same space.
The lands it is composed of are owned by a medly of parties - some are protected by the city, some are owned by the airport and the REM, some are private buissnesses but have been earmarked for conservation, and some are still slated for development. There is a feirce ongoing battle to protect this wonderful natural place from becoming another industrial lot!

For the cache itself... much like the technoparc, this cache mixes human and natural together. It's hidden inside a hollow log that never lived, on the edge of the abandoned path made of man-made soil. Take some bird related items and leave some!
