Even though Randwick Environment Park is in the middle of an urban environment, there is diverse bird life here! While the tall trees are important to some birds, any smaller species rely on the lower scrub and open grassland to provide the shelter and food they need.

If you don’t know the species, you can take a pic with your mobile (if you are fast enough!) and upload it to iNaturalist. iNaturalist uses artificial intelligence to immediately identify the species and then other app users will confirm the ID for you. What’s more, by recording and sharing your observations, you’ll create research quality data for scientists working to better understand and protect nature!
