Geocache Description:

This is an easy park and grab.

It is a pretty shady area.

The container is a micro with a log. You will need a pen.

Please put it back exactly as you found it. Thanks.

The McCune Church of the Nazarene was established in 1917 originally in Jacksonville, KS. The establishing of the church is almost as old as the Nazarene Church, which became a national denomination in 1908 at Pilot Point, TX. In 1928 the congregation moved to the community of McCune, KS and bought the Presbyterian church, which was built in 1880. The original church was the main sanctuary and has been remodeled many times with the fellowship hall being added around 1976. The church is the white building northwest of the geocache. The town of McCune was laid out in 1879 by Issac McCune and was incorporated on October 8, 1881. McCune was established as a farming community and had what was at the time the largest grain elevator. A railroad at one time went through McCune.

Congratulations to N_W_Family for FTF!
