I began fostering dogs during the COVID-19 pandemic. I had wanted to foster for years, but being stuck at home finally motivated me to get started. I had also just started volunteering in January that year, so fostering was a way to still contribute when we couldn't physically be in the shelter. This is a series of geocaches dedicated to the foster animals we have loved since then!
Rocky was our first foster dog and we had her from March 27th through May 5th, 2020. She had an ear infection and was waiting to be spayed due to the pandemic putting a hold on spay and neuter surgeries. She was a snuggly, warm-hearted girl who had ingenious methods of avoiding her medicine. I played Disney lullabies for her at bedtime to help her settle down for the night. Rocky was medically cleared and adopted by one of my coworkers who had fallen in love after seeing pictures of her all over my social media page.
