Geocache Description:

The Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail is a  5,794-acre rail-trail. The rail trail was originally part of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad from 1909 to 1980. The trail begins at the western terminus of the trail at the Cedar Falls Trailhead near Rattlesnake Lake State Park. From there, eExplorers continue through the mountain pass into dark tunnels and over high trestles, until the landscape gives way to the amber-hued farmlands of eastern Washington. The eastern terminus is at the Tekoa trailhead at the Idaho border.  Railroad buffs, will enjoy historic train depots at South Cle Elum and Kittitas along the way.

To the west of where this cache is, is one of the many trestles that are on the trail. This deck plate girder bridge was built in 1909 by the Pennsylvania Steel Company of Steelton, PA. The bridge is just under 50 feet long and spans over Interstate 90. The bridge is known as the Renslow Trestle.
