Fusimi-town
Fushimi-street with a width of 50m connecting Nagoya Castle and Atsuta Jingu. The main road connecting Nagoya from north to south has been Hommachi-street since the Edo period. Houses lined up along the road, and the road could not be expanded. Therefore, Fushimi-street was created as a bypass.
There used to be "Fushimi-town" in the place where Geocash is. From this pedestrian bridge, you can see the road that goes straight from the northern end of the Atsuta Plateau.
伏見町
名古屋城と熱田神宮を結ぶ50m幅の伏見通。名古屋を南北につなぐ主要道路は江戸時代から本町通でしたが、戦後沿道に家が並び大幅な拡張が無理だったため、そのバイパスとしてできたのが伏見通です。伏見駅に伏見通、、、名古屋では有名な地名ですが、実際に"伏見"という町名は1966年に丸の内と錦に編入され消滅、現在は存在しません。
キャッシュがあるちょうどその場所にはかつて「伏見町」があり、その通り名「伏見町筋」の名前が由来となり「伏見通」となりました。熱田台地の北端からまっすぐゆるやかにくだっていく道を、今はなき「伏見町」の歩道橋から眺めることができます。
