Geocache Description:

Gabriel García Márquez wrote several novels that received much acclaim. So much so that he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1982. Gabriel Márquez's most famous work is titled 100 Years of Solitude. I remember reading this maybe 20 years ago. William Kennedy of the New York Times Book Review thought pretty highly:

One Hundred Years of Solitude is the first piece of literature since the Book of Genesis that should be required reading for the entire human race. Mr. García Márquez has done nothing less than to create in the reader a sense of all that is profound, meaningful, and meaningless in life.

This novels title is the inspiration for this cache. I know it is a small thrill to find a cache that has not been found in quite some time. The loneliest find I can claim is Purple Hill with 1694 days of loneliness. This was going to be a challenge cache but it falls outside the rules. The parameters were to be:

1) Each qualifying cache must have exceeded 183 days of loneliness. Time between published and FTF counts but only if more than 183 days.

2) Total loneliness needs to exceed 100 years (36500 days)

You can use GSAK or projectGC to confirm. I found this checker on ProjectGC which is set at 30 years but its the total days that matter. https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC4V7BN

At the time of publication I can claim 293 caches not found in 183 days totalling 103724 days. That is 284 years.

Now it is a simple traditional. However, should you wish please share in your log how many months or years of cache loneliness you have cured.
