Oaky-dokey is a series of caches around part of Shire Brook Valley, celebrating our most iconic native tree. There is a bonus cache at the end, so make sure you get the information from the logbooks. The series is 2.5 miles if you start from the nature reserve car park. There are some slopes and uneven ground, but generally the paths are in decent condition.
Oak fact. Oak trees can support 38 species of birds, including all three native woodpeckers. You're unlikely to come across a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker in Sheffield, but Great Spotted and Green are quite common.
