Oct. 5 and 6. After today we get a tourist day to explore our next city! Our journey took us past the location of the last major battle in the Roman subjugation of Iberia. The official route would have had us walk the shoulder of the highway for most of the day. There were no caches nearby, but my GPS was useful to find a route that let us walk quiet country roads with no traffic for a couple of hours. Our path was 26.1 km taking us into the city of. . . León, León, Castille y León, Spain. Our 'rest' day was 14.3 km of Roman walls, medieval walls, museums, and a most awesome cathedral.
Tall rubber boots are likely required for most of the caches. Some of the ditches are very steep.
