Geocache Description:

Sacramento Valley National Cemetery is one of 124 cemeteries in the National Cemetery system in the United States. It is a little over 500 acres located three miles southwest of Dixon, California. The land where the cemetery now stands was used extensively as farmland from the 1860s through 2004; the first military burials took place in 2006. The Department of Veterans Affairs states that this cemetery should serve the needs of the region for the next 50 years. There are tens of thousands of uniform military headstones and niches throughout the cemetery complex, committal shelters, ceremonial areas, a beautiful lagoon with a fountain, and several monuments dedicated to the veterans and their families.

This is a bonus cache for the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery Adventure Lab. Four of the five lab stages are inside the cemetery, but one stage is outside the gates. That stage "Department of Veteran Affairs" has the coordinates and hint for the bonus cache. So if you arrive at the cemetery and the gates are locked, you will still have an opportunity to find this cache. Cemetery hours are from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily. Please obey all rules and enjoy your visit to these beautiful and hallowed grounds. God Bless America!
