Port Pirie Speedway track. A favourite place for us every Easter when the speedway championships were held. Afternoons sitting in the back of my dad's Holden ute watching the solo and sidecar motorcycles sliding around the half mile track were fantastic, and later repeated with our own children and extended family. Theses events are sorely missed since the track closed due to safety concerns with fencing.
The track has a wonderful history dating back to the 1920's, and is a story of local people achieving things for the community through hard work, determination and teamwork.
The cache is a 1 litre container, containing logbook, First to Find prize, travel bug, and a few swaps.
