 Trail Orta - Lungolago Panoramica

L’itinerario ad anello percorre il promontorio sul quale sorge lo storico paese di Orta, che fa parte del circuito dei borghi più belli d’Italia. Il percorso inizia nei pressi di Villa Crespi (qui trovate la cache GC6WNQJ), una dimora storica, costruita nel 1879 per volere di un imprenditore tessile affascinato dall’architettura dei paesi mediorientali, immergendola nel verde di un parco che gode di una vista panoramica sul lago d’Orta. La costruzione viene affidata all’architetto Angelo Colla, originario delle alture del lago Maggiore, al quale il committente lascia piena libertà di espressione creativa. Originariamente chiamata Villa Pia, dal nome di sua moglie a cui Cristoforo Benigno Crespi la dedica, la dimora prende poi il cognome di famiglia. L’antico titolo è attualmente leggibile su uno dei cancelli di ingresso. Da qui proseguendo verso Via Panoramica (la strada carrabile che porta al centro paese) si trova il sentiero che volge a destra e scende dolcemente verso la riva del lago, questa prima parte di passeggiata è coperta dagli alberi del bosco alla sinistra che avvolgono i primi metri d'acqua.
