Neulich beim Spaziergang in Berlin's Mitte sind mir eine Anzahl Schachtdeckel und ein Lüftungsrohr mitten auf einer Wiese aufgefallen. Die Koordinaten führen euch zu diesem Ort. Da hier auf Grund der Groundspeak Abstandsregeln das Legen einer Dose nicht möglich ist, habe ich einen Start-Ziel Multi daraus gemacht.
Nun sind in Berlin interessante Dinge im Untergrund, die für den Uneingeweihten nicht sichtbar sind, nichts ungewöhnliches. Das geht vom Berghain über die verschiedenen Lebensadern der Stadt (Strom, Wasser, Gas, Internet...) zu zahlreichen Bauwerken in allen vorstellbaren Erhaltungszuständen. Viele sind in Betrieb und werden täglich genutzt, andere sind fertig gestellt werden aber nicht (mehr) genutzt oder es sind einfach nur ruinöse Reste.
In unmittelbarer Nähe zu den Koordinaten verlaufen unterirdische Eisenbahn-, Straßen- und U-Bahntunnel.
Weiter westlich befinden sich teilweise unter dem sowjetischen Ehrenmal die Tunnelrohbauten eines 200 m langes Tunnelstückes der im 3.Reich geplanten U-Bahnlinie G, 6,80 m breit, 16 m unter der Oberfläche gelegen.
Südlich von hier liegen die unterirdischen Parkplätze des zum Deutschen Bundestag gehörenden Paul-Löbe Haus.
Zu all diesen Anlagen gehören die im Umkreis der Koordinaten zu sehenden Schachtdeckel definitv nicht.
- Sind das Abstiege zum mystischen, unterirdisch verlaufenden Fluss Styx?
- Zugänge zur sagenumwobenen Hohlerde?
- Notausgänge des nicht ganz so geheimen Regierungsbunkers?

Recently while walking in Berlin's Mitte I noticed a number of manhole covers and a ventilation pipe in the middle of a meadow. The coordinates will lead you to this place. Since it is not possible to put a geocache exactly here due to the Groundspeak distance rules, it's a simple offset geocache.
In Berlin it's not uncommon to find interesting things in the underground that are not visible to the uninitiated. This includes the Berghain, various lifelines of the city (electricity, water, gas, internet...) and numerous structures in all imaginable states of preservation. Many are in operation and used daily, others have been completed but are not used (anymore) or are simply ruinous leftovers.
In close proximity to the coordinates there are railway, road and metro tunnels that are invisible on the surface.
Further west, partly under the Soviet memorial, are the tunnel shells of a 200 m long tunnel section of the underground line G planned in the 3rd Reich, 6.80 m wide, 16 m below the surface.
South of here is the underground parking of the Paul-Löbe Haus located, which belongs to the Deutsche Bundestag.
The manhole covers which are located around the coordinates definitely do not belong to any of these systems.
- Are these descents to the mytical underground river Styx?
- Access to the legendary Hohlerde?
- Emergency exits of the not-so-secret government bunker?
