This beautiful cemetery is dedicated for the burial of members and their families of HaShomer Organization (The Watchman), a Jewish defense organization, that safeguarded the Jewish agricultural settlements in Palestine (1909-1920).
The cemetery and pavillion were designed by architect Moshe Yaffe.
The most known watchman is Alexander Zaïd that was killed in 1938 by a Bedouin, just across the street from the cemetery.
