Geocache Description:

Welcome to Mika’s Cache. This cache memorializes a very special dog that brightened many peoples lives for 14 wonderful years. She loved sticks, stones, and hated strollers. The sweet girl left us in the summer of 2022, but will stay in our hearts forever.

Mika was queen of whites pond, and loved exploring the forests around the water and swimming. This spot was one of her many haunts, and was a good source of big logs which she enjoyed shredding as a young pup. Mika was also a huge fan of Geocaching (even if she didn't realize it), so we have decided to honor her memory with a cache here in this special spot.

This path traces a peninsula into a swamp that once hosted a heron rookery, which has since disappeared after the bog was drained in relation to local construction projects. There are multiple trails in the area some of which take you to white pond. To reach the cache trail you need to go down an access road that ends in a cul-de-sac and a water pumping station. This access road is accessible off of Hemlock Street Which runs directly off Dover Street

The cache is just a bit before the very end of the peninsula, towards the south side. Inside, you'll find lots of toys for both dogs and humans - take some and leave some! Keep an eye out for Buddha, he shall lead you to the caches wooden house. Put him back if he’s fallen.

RIP Mika, see you when I see you heart
