NM = National Monument
"National Monument" is the highest designation possible given to historic sites in Taiwan, followed by municipal and county(city) monuments. The designations are outlined in the ''Cultural Heritage Preservation Act'', and monuments are preserved by the Bureau of Cultural Heritage.
Guangfu Temple is located at No. 150, Xinzhuang Road, Xinzhuang District. It was built in the 45th year of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. Guangfu Temple is commonly known as "Sanshan King's Temple". This temple is mainly a worship center for Cantonese immigrants, so the Sanshan King's Temple is generally used as a symbol of Hakka immigrant settlements. The architectural form of Guangfu Temple belongs to the street house style. In order to adapt to the characteristics of the downtown environment, it can only be developed vertically to form a long strip. The gate of Guangfu Temple has not been refurbished and still retains its original appearance. There are two lions lying down outside the temple, and the stone pillars and rafters are very finely carved. The stone of Guangfu Temple is made of local Guanyin Mountain stone, and the wall of the apse is built with black bricks from China in the past, which is very strong and beautiful. The wood carvings are lively and full of changes, and the biggest feature is that they are completely unpainted, exuding the characteristics of simplicity. Due to the Hakka people leaving Xinzhuang and moving to Taoyuan and Zhongli after the armed struggle between Fujian and Guangdong, Guangfu Temple has become less popular and lacks funds, and has not been renovated on a large scale.
