Highland Cemetery is located in Beachwood, but it is a city of Cleveland cemetery. Highland Cemetery may be best known for all of the veteran's that are buried here, but there are several other notable residents.
Harold Barton was born in Boston and he spent his adult life in Cleveland Ohio. His first elected office was for school board in East Cleveland, but he quickly grew from there. He served as mayor for the city of Cleveland from 1936 - 1940, served as a Senator in Washington representing Ohio from 1941 - 1945 and he served on the Supreme Court from 1945 - 1958. He is buried at Highland along with his wife.
