Just 5 km from Brusje lies the charming village of Velo Grablje, founded in the 14th century.
With its picturesque stone houses, traditional courtyards and narrow lanes, the village offers a glimpse into the authentic past of the island of Hvar. A stroll through its peaceful streets feels like stepping back in time.
Although today only about 10 people still live here, Velo Grablje was once a prosperous and progressive village. It was famous for producing excellent wine, olive oil and honey, and was once one of the largest producers of lavender oil in Europe.
From Velo Grablje you can follow the dry stream bed on a beautiful walk down to Malo Grablje, another fascinating abandoned village.

This is a classic guardrail cache.
⚠️ Please watch out for the thorn bushes around the cache. They grow back very quickly, especially during the warmer months. You do not need to force your way through the vegetation to reach the cache.

🏡 Dobrodošli u Velo Grablje!
Samo 5 kilometara od Brusja nalazi se šarmantno selo Velo Grablje, osnovano u 14. stoljeću.
Sa svojim slikovitim kamenim kućama, tradicionalnim dvorištima i uskim uličicama selo pruža pravi doživljaj prošlih vremena i autentičnog života na otoku Hvaru.
Iako danas ima tek desetak stanovnika, Velo Grablje nekoć je bilo bogato i napredno selo. Bilo je poznato po proizvodnji vrhunskog vina, maslinovog ulja i meda, a nekada je bilo i jedan od najvećih proizvođača ulja lavande u Europi.
Iz Velog Grablja možete prošetati suhim koritom potoka sve do Malog Grablja, još jednog zanimljivog napuštenog sela.

Ovo je klasični cache uz zaštitnu ogradu (guardrail cache).
⚠️ Molimo pripazite na trnje u blizini cachea. Vrlo brzo ponovno izraste, posebno tijekom toplijih mjeseci. Za pronalazak cachea nije potrebno probijati se kroz grmlje.
Nakon logiranja vratite cache točno na njegovo mjesto.

🏡 Willkommen in Velo Grablje!
Nur 5 Kilometer von Brusje entfernt liegt das charmante Dorf Velo Grablje, das im 14. Jahrhundert entstand.
Mit seinen malerischen Steinhäusern, traditionellen Innenhöfen und verwinkelten Gassen vermittelt das Dorf noch heute den ursprünglichen Charakter der Insel Hvar. Ein Spaziergang durch die ruhigen Gassen fühlt sich wie eine Reise in die Vergangenheit an.
Heute leben hier nur noch etwa 10 Einwohner, doch einst war Velo Grablje ein wohlhabendes und fortschrittliches Dorf. Es war bekannt für seinen hervorragenden Wein, das Olivenöl und den Honig und gehörte zeitweise zu den größten Produzenten von Lavendelöl in Europa.
Von Velo Grablje führt ein schöner Wanderweg entlang des ausgetrockneten Bachbetts bis nach Malo Grablje, einem weiteren faszinierenden verlassenen Dorf.

Dies ist ein klassischer Leitplankencache.
⚠️ Bitte achtet auf die Dornen in der Nähe des Caches. Sie wachsen besonders in den warmen Monaten sehr schnell nach. Um den Cache zu erreichen, müsst ihr euch nicht durch das Gestrüpp kämpfen.
Bitte bringt den Cache anschließend wieder genau an seinem Platz an.
