Everytime we traveled to Cochrane to visit our daughter & son-in-law, I would tell GreenThumb9, "I want to place a geocache here." Well, I finally did!
It took sculptor, Mike Camp, over a year to weld this massive steel bison together. Earl, as he is called, stands 19 feet tall, 27 feet long, and weighs an incredible nine tons. Earl was a commissioned piece by Bisons du Nord, a local bison ranch, and he was completed in 1984.
Go ahead, get your selfie with Earl, then take a good look for the nearby "bison" tube geocache container. Quite appropriate, don't you think?
