Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the headline coordinates.

You can find the coordinates to this cache by completing our 'Path to Breamore Miz-Maze' and 'Brockenhurst Stroll' Adventure Labs. Path to Breamore Miz-Maze will show you the Westings and Brockenhurst Stroll will show you the Northings. You must sign the cache's physical logbook or we will delete your electronic log. We welcome photos and descriptions of your adventures, but please do not post any spoilers in your logs!

The final cache is somewhere on a New Forest hill. It is in a remote(ish) area and will likely require a walk of at least 3.5 km there and back, depending upon where you park. Our return journey took about 1.5 hours, but we are dawdlers.

You may not get a phone signal, let alone a data signal near GZ, so please take sensible precautions. Wear sensible footwear, as the Forest paths can get quite muddy and wet, especially in winter and after substantial rain.

You will walk at least 10 km total, on all three walks. All terrain buggies will probably be alright on all the walks, especially during drier periods, but sadly, the walks are not wheelchair friendly.

We only saw two other people when we hid the cache: a lone walker in the distance, and a cyclist with a punctured tyre. Perhaps everyone else was staying out of the sun during the heatwave! In any case, help would not be within easy reach if you were to get into bother. So make sure all your batteries are charged and you plan your route. A paper map and compass would also be an advantage.

When we were in the area many years ago, we saw a massive herd of deer. It was an impressive sight. Please stay away from them, especially during rutting season. You may also see ponies and cattle, and it is possible that you will come across an adder in warmer weather, so please keep yourselves and your dogs safe.

Please don't park on the verges, as it's not great for the Forest paths and ecosystem. It's also inadvisable to drive down teeny "roads" that may look alright on a map, but in fact are nearly impassable once you set eyes on the terrain and obstacles in front of you.

The cache is hidden within easy reach of a footpath, so please stay on the paths until you get quite close to GZ.

This cache is on Forestry England land and has been placed in accordance with the GAGB–Forestry England Agreement. As part of this Agreement, it is not permitted to seek the cache during the hours of darkness.
