Edge Of Nowhere is a virtual reality video game following explorer Victor Howard who is searching for his fiancé, Ava Thorne, lost during a previous expedition in Antarctica. As well as the cold, inhospitable landscape, Victor encounters disturbing creatures on his rescue mission – as the game is based on the work of H.P. Lovecraft.
This geocache is a letterbox hybrid type and it is not hidden at the listed coordinates. Like Victor you will have to work out where you need to go to find the prize and hopefully you will not find any fantastical creatures on your travels!
Once at the listed coordinates, look around you to spot the following pieces of information:
- Let A = the number of letters in the word on the red fingerpost
- Let B = the number of letters in the name of the person whose ride it is (on the smaller purple arrow)
- Let C = the maximum speed
The location of the cache can now be given by calculating a projection from the listed coordinates using a compass bearing and distance:
A bearing of A × B × C degrees
A distance of 【 (A+B) × C × 2 】 + A metres
The final container is a short walk away, in the obvious direction if you are following this walking route in order. Please leave the letterbox stamp in the container once you find it, as it is crucial to the letterbox type and should not be taken. Don’t forget to find KT118.03 first before you head off!
The KT118 Walk
This is number 4 of a series of caches placed for the 118ᵗʰ KT caching event.
Walking the whole series is best done in numerical order, or it can be broken into two smaller loops by using the main A537 road between Marthall and Chelford. Most of the walk is on good paths or quiet roads but please note that there are a few blind bends on the smaller roads and motorists whizz down them at speed. So please take care with children and animals at all times while using any of the roads in the area.
Parking can be found on the roads near the FIRST cache in the series. You will need a pen or pencil to sign the log of this one. We welcome logs highlighting any issues or any suggestions you have to improve the cache or the series. Good luck everyone!
